JWST 470V: “How did the Holocaust affect…?”
The discussion began in late 2020 to create a seminar that could help develop public knowledge of the Holocaust. In an effort to find ways to bring different disciplines together–especially disciplines that do not usually work together–we landed on the idea of asking people to explore how the conditions for and the events of the Holocaust have an impact on what they study.
For the initial trial run in fall 2021, we brought together a small group of speakers interested in contributing an overview or case study in their area of expertise. Some of us are people who have done extensive work on Holocaust-related issues; but some of us are not–and that gives us all the chance for discovering new approaches, new perspectives, and to reframe ideas that have become familiar.
We’ve created this archive in the hopes that our work might be beneficial going forward, for future course development as well as for anyone interested in finding out more about the Holocaust and how it affected and affects us and the world around us.
